Well, Summer is here, and of course, many of us are drifting apart for these summer months until school starts back. Luckily, National Convention is coming up and our Brothers Amanda and Robin are attending! We will be meeting tomorrow to discuss and decide on items to sell at National Convention. This will occur around 12:30pm at Robin's apartment, so be there or be square!
While we are all off in our separate corners of the state--and other states--many of us are working hard and showing off the characteristics which we prize so much in Phi Sigma Pi.
First of all, many congratulations to our most recent Alumni. They are going to new places, scoring awesome new jobs, and sadly for us, moving away to new exciting places. Congrats alumni! We love you and miss you very much already.
Next, we'd like to mention the new blog that a couple of our Political Science majors are participating in. It is called The Rage of Reason, and was started by new Brother Shawn. While the blog is not Phi Sigma Pi related or focused, we wanted to highlight our Brothers' use of their magnificent brains in discussing some of our country's most pressing issues, putting their views out into the world. An excerpt: "This blog is dedicated to examining the political, religious, psychological, and philosophical aspects of our modern discourse in the public sphere, endorsing that which is beneficial, and exposing that which is not."
Finally, a shout out to the rest of the Beta Psi crowd since there are too many of us to name specifically for every activity we're involved in. It is clear to all that we are all working so very hard this summer (facebook statuses, though only a few short sentences at most, say quite a lot). We're having rough times and great times, hitting speed bumps and taking them in stride, using that good ol' PSP know-how to flatten out the road. We're visiting family, getting internships, working summer jobs, going out of state or even out of the country, and overall finding great things to do with our time away from school.
At the end of the summer, don't forget, we're having a planning meeting at the Peachey's at 4pm on Saturday, August 28th, which is also Courtney's birthday!!
